Your most important goal when it comes to organizing your life and your goals isn’t what you actually achieve but what you learn in the process. Make that your priority, and everything else will fall into place.
At those moments when I feel like a vulnerable child, I’ll wrap myself in loving warmth
There is a part of you that feels that if you can just get things figured out, then everything will be okay. However, being a Cancerian and someone ruled by the Moon, the heavenly body whose cycles are so powerful and so obvious, there is a lesson for you.
And that is that there are periods in life and during the month when it’s about growth, when it’s about stillness, and when it’s about rest. While that is something you may understand intellectually, there is a part of you that still feels as if you are always supposed to be doing something.
If you’re not pushing yourself to get something done, you’re encouraging someone else. And of course, the lesson here—and, in fact, the gift to yourself—is to recognize that you are allowed to stop.
And just as at the time of the New Moon when there is stillness, stillness in nature, you will also be still. The irony is, during that time of stillness you will have time to reflect, and there comes great joy in that moment simply because it allows you both to question what you are doing and to consider your options, but also to consider the idea of broadening your horizons in terms of the people you spend time with, what you’re doing, or what you’re seeking for your own life, in the present and in the future.
The question for you and others is, are you responsible for the bad mood of those around you? There seem to be certain individuals who think that’s the case. And if you allow them to convince you that’s true, then you will have a problem. This may require taking a tough line, because the fact is, every individual is responsible for their own well-being.
Cycles are the subject for you. And this is, of course, natural, being a water sign. Yet you have a tendency to feel that when it comes to your health and well-being, you will do better if you have a regimen. The important thing is to recognize that deep within you lies a need for cycles. Pay attention to that and make that the basis on which you make decisions.
Your most important goal when it comes to organizing your life and your goals isn’t what you actually achieve but what you learn in the process. Make that your priority, and everything else will fall into place.
There is a difference between making tentative plans, which is what this period is all about, and lasting commitments. The problem is, one individual views every arrangement as final. Gently but firmly help them understand that, at the moment, anyway, plans that are flexible will be better all around.
Cancer: JUNE 20 – JULY 21
Ruler: The Moon
Symbol: The Crab
Element: Water
Flower: Lily
The only sign ruled by the Moon, Cancer accents cycles —both nature’s rhythms, especially the oceans and tides, and those in our lives. The symbol, the crab, is linked to water, as are your sign’s flowers: the lily and the lotus. Your herbs are aromatic, tarragon and verbena, and your tree is the maple. Your jewel, the pearl, not only comes from the sea, it mirrors the Moon’s form.
