It’s very easy for those around you to change the past according to what suits them, and they begin to include you in their past. Being able to say, “No, that’s not what happened at all,” may sound argumentative, but in certain situations, it’s not only wise, it is essential.
I have every right to say a firm “No” to unreasonable demands
As a Libra and somebody ruled by the gracious planet Venus, being in the midst of those who are unhappy—people who are combative or even those who simply can’t seem to get on with things—is difficult. This is because you want the best for everybody, and if you see someone struggling, you feel you must help in some way. It is natural for you.
However, it’s vital that you recognize there are certain individuals and certain situations where others’ problems are theirs, and theirs alone, to deal with. Their difficulties and even their pain aren’t your responsibility.
Acknowledging this is a challenge, because you have a need to look after others, to show interest in them and do what you can. So putting your own interests first isn’t just out of character, it makes you feel uncomfortable, if not plain selfish. However, there are times when it is crucial that you recognize your values and needs come first. This variety of “Libra balance” can be one of the most challenging for you to spot, and understand.
This is especially the case when you’re around individuals who are addicted to their own dramas. You know that about certain individuals, yet you are still drawn to them. The secret to dealing with all of them is to tell them you’re sorry they are struggling, and then say you have an appointment elsewhere.
At times, it seems as if your role in the lives of others, and theirs in yours, is fixed. In some cases, if it’s family or somebody you work with, it is. In others, it is negotiable. In fact, in certain relationships that might be termed toxic, it is essential that you negotiate. In many cases, make changes before the day is over.
There are many ways to recover from life’s difficulties, but perhaps the most important one is to have a good time. That may seem unwise, especially if you are around people who are struggling, but the best therapy for you is to duck out of those situations and do something that lifts your spirits and makes you feel glad to be alive. If you have to go back to others’ problems, you will return to them in a much more positive mood.
It’s very easy for those around you to change the past according to what suits them, and they begin to include you in their past. Being able to say, “No, that’s not what happened at all,” may sound argumentative, but in certain situations, it’s not only wise, it is essential.
Somebody seems to have either decided to do things their way, or alternatively, ignored important facts, yet they intend to proceed with their plans. That would be no problem, but inevitably, what they do will have an impact on you. This means getting involved. You really have no alternative.
Libra: SEPTEMBER 22 – OCTOBER 21
Ruler: Venus
Symbol: The Scales
Element: Air
Flower: Rose
Being ruled by Venus, the goddess of elegance, beauty, and love, you as a Libra have an instinctive elegance and talent for making others—everybody you meet—feel special. This talent often becomes your career, and those personal links develop into a lifelong passion. Your flower is the rose; your herbs are redolent mint and sorrel; and ash and poplar are your trees. Jade, in its infinite shades, is your stone.
